Bob Keller- Police Dept. Chaplain
50 years ago tonight I was serving in the United States Air Force. I was driving home from Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, AZ to Garden Grove, Ca. It was about a 6 hour drive back then. The Lord had been working in my life about trusting Him to be my Lord and Savoir. In fact He had been working specifically in my life since I was 16. I always refused Him because I did not believe I could possibly live the Christian life and I was afraid if I did accept Him and failed living for Him, I would be a hypocrite. I did not want that. That Friday night I finally realize that without the Holy Spirit I could not live the Christian life and that needed to trust Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit. A few weeks earlier had made that same drive. During that weekend at night I had taken the time to visit Huntington Beach. As I was walking down the beach someone had written in the sand, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. I learn later that was the from Acts 16:31. That Friday night 50 years ago tonight the Lord brought me under deep conviction and I began to be sorry for my sin. I wept that night and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my life and save me. Did He come into my life? He did most certainly did because my life began change. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. I became a new creation in Christ and assurance of my Salvation and later I was baptized by immersion. A week after I trusted Christ, I attended a Bible Believing Church. In that Church I met a very special person and her name was Jane. She has now been my wife for over 49 years. Trusting the Lord as my Savoir has been the most important decision I have ever made. If you have not, let me encourage you trust Christ as your Savoir and be saved. I do not want to get to Heaven and find that you are not there. Please trust Christ. Romans 10:13 For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
